FUKUDA has developed high performance powders created using the plasma rotating electrode process.

Manufacturing High Performance Powders by Plasma Rotating Electrode Process

  • A rapidly rotating metal rod is melted by a plasma arc, so that the molten metal is ejected from the rod by centrifugal force and collected as powder that has solidified in flight.
  • Because the metal is melted without using a crucible, this method can produce extremely pure powders, even for highly reactive metal powders.
  • The process results in high quality spherical powders with almost no satellites.
